The Qalawun-Muzhir Bangle brings together two design compositions: the first is a pattern taken from the mihrab of the Mausoleum of Sultan al-Mansur Qalawun where marble and mother-of-pearl are used to create a vibrant effect of waves. The second is the twelve-pointed star pattern found in the minbar of the madrasa of Qadi Abu Bakr ibn Muzhir. It is decorated with mosaics and surrounded by curved segments.
